hair:
-instead of buying clarifying shampoo, mix about two tablespoons of baking soda into regular shampoo and wash as usual to strip the product buildup from hair. it also gets our chlorine and the green tint it leaves in hair
-for deep conditioning, smooth body lotion into hair n leave it in overnight. wash hair in the morning n it'll give it more body n make it really soft
-to get rid of chemical spray in hair add a few drops of orange or peppermint- about three drops per eight ounces - into the bottle n shake it up before you apply it. since so little is you it doesn't affect the hair spray at all
-use a dime-size squirt of baby lotion as texturizer especially for layer, razored hair. since it's lighter than most lotions, its not too greasy. it tames flyaways and works like any other styling product
-to protect hair color from fading, mix one part sunscreen w/three parts purified water in a water bottle and spritz on hair before going outside
skin:
-if you breakout alone your hairline try washing your face after you get out of the shower to remove abny residue left on skin from conditioner. getting that film of conditioner off just might solve that problem
-strange but the sugar in packets at Krispy Kreme is so superfine, it makes the best scrub- the granules are tiny and not so harsh on your skin mix one packet w/a tablespoon of honey for perfect exfoliation
-papaya has the digestive enzyme papain, which works as a mild exfoliatior. just mash it into a paste n apply a five-minute mask
-put a spot of honey on pimples at night because it has antibacterial properties. it heals zits faster (i actually read this on hear before and tried it n it did work pretty well, especially to get rid of that redness from blemishes)
-when you get one of those huge, undergrown blemishes. mix a teaspoon of yeast w/a few drops of lemon juice n water to make a paste and dab it on spots. it seams to really shrink those things overnight!
-put hydrogen peroxide on inflamed zits. it removes all the bacteria n dries up the area much quicker than acne cream. use this trick only at night though because it turn the area white temporarily
-swipe deodorant over your bikini line after waxing or shaving to prevent bumps. dermatologist says it works because there is something in the deodorant that protects your skin against irritation
-regular oil-blotting sheets leave a powdery white residue and they're so expensive n tiny- it takes like five to get the job done. those brown, unbleached napkins are good to blot face w/instead since they're really absorbent n there's no powder
brows:
-for less painful hair removal, numb skin by rubbing a drop or two of baby teething ointment over the area
-you can use lip balm for practically anything like holding eyebrows in place, add glow on eyelids and cheeks, and even in hair as styling wax
eyes:
-bend tip of mascara wand until its at a 45 degree angle, it makes putting on mascara easier and it bends back when put away and doesn't break
-curl lashes after applying mascara. the pros say not to since you risk ripping out your lashes, but if you wait at least five minutes uintil they[re toatally dry, and do it slowly, it works
-dust dark brown eye shadow over lashes and then apply mascara. do it while looking down so none of the shadow gets in eyes. it makes it easier to see the tips and makes sure you're getting the full lash. it also makes them look a little darker and fuller
-if you fall asleep w/eye-makeup on, smear a little bit of hair conditioner over lashes in the shower the next day. mascara slides right off and it softens lashes and prevents them from getting brittle
lips:
-prep lips w/underye concealer. it evens out the color and prevents the lipstick from bleeding
-use old trick of filling in whole lip w/lip liner and then applying clear gloss ontop. the best part is that the color from the liner seeps into the tube of gloss and creates a new, sheer color
